Rug Cleaning Sydney
Specialist cleaning for Persian, Oriental, wool, silk blend, and synthetic rugs. We understand that your rug may be an heirloom — we treat it accordingly.
Rug Cleaning That Respects Your Investment
Rugs — particularly Persian, Oriental, and hand-knotted wool varieties — require a very different approach to wall-to-wall carpet. Their dyes can bleed, their fringes can tangle, and their backing materials can warp if treated incorrectly. Getting this wrong can cause irreversible damage to something that may be irreplaceable.
With 20 years of experience handling rugs of all types and values, we know precisely what each piece needs. We test dyes, assess fibre type, and select the gentlest effective cleaning method for your specific rug. Our equipment is calibrated for low moisture on delicate pieces to prevent distortion or dye migration.
We offer both on-site cleaning (for large, heavy rugs difficult to transport) and off-site cleaning (for smaller or particularly delicate pieces where a controlled environment is preferable).

The Benefits
Protect Your Investment
Quality rugs are expensive. Professional cleaning removes the grit that cuts fibres and the oils that degrade dyes over time.
Restored Colour & Vibrancy
Accumulated soil dulls rug colours dramatically. After cleaning, the original depth and vibrancy of the dyes returns.
Sanitised & Odour-Free
Pet accidents, food spills, and general use introduce bacteria and odours. We remove the source — not just the smell.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — hand-knotted Persian and Oriental rugs are one of our specialties. We test for dye stability first, use gentle pH-balanced solutions, and dry flat to prevent backing distortion. These rugs require expert handling, and we've been caring for them for over 20 years.
For large, heavy rugs that are impractical to transport, on-site cleaning is the most convenient option and delivers excellent results. For smaller, very delicate, or heavily soiled rugs, an off-site clean in a controlled environment can be more thorough. We'll advise which is best for your specific rug when you call.
On-site cleaning of a standard rug typically takes 30–60 minutes. Drying takes 2–4 hours depending on pile thickness and ventilation. Off-site cleaning (including transport, wash, and return) usually takes 2–3 business days.
We clean and straighten fringes as part of our standard rug cleaning process. For damaged or knotted fringes, we can attempt to restore them during cleaning. Severely damaged fringes may need specialist rug repair — we can refer you to a trusted repairer if needed.
Shrinkage in wool rugs is caused by over-wetting combined with heat or agitation. Our low-moisture technique and controlled drying process significantly minimises this risk. We always test a hidden corner first and will advise you honestly if we feel the risk is higher than normal for a particular piece.
